I have many yoga stories!

I Ate Tuna Instead

I had a marvelous experience at yoga Monday night. I got there early (as always) but someone was there ahead of me: this extremely handsome flight attendant from Spain working for British Airways. I must have had good karma because we seemed to connect in the 10 minutes before class. We giggled like school kids and interrupted each other with questions. He placed his yoga mat behind mine. I was thinking of ways to ask him out to dinner.

Then something bad happened. I started having MAJOR hot flashes and couldn't concentrate. There was a pool of sweat around me -- it looked like I had sprung a leak. I finally gave up and just laid on the floor. Janine (instructor) was freaking out - she kept checking in on me while trying to continue with the class - I was barely able to respond; I couldn't breathe. I couldn't even sit up. I started crying. Did I mention I was situated at the front of the class room with the BA man behind me? I finally caught my breathe and started in again, only to get a leg cramp so I just gave up.

However, I was able to not only walk home OK I walked Mr. BA back to the Sheraton.

And the amazing thing is that life goes on. There can only be one worst and I survived. I didn't get dinner with him (I think everyone in class was freaking out, including him) but I spent an extra 10 minutes with him walking him back to the hotel. It was nice--I'll take it.
